In a recent interview with NME, Eric André shared ‘the soundtrack of his life.’ Apart from recalling his firsts, the comedian revealed the song that made him wish he’d written it.
After saying it’s Aceyalone, Spoon Iodine, and C.V.E’s ‘Jurassick,’ Eric revealed the best part of the song that gets him most:
“In the middle of the song, the guy goes, ‘Oh my god, I’m atheist for Christ’s sake!‘ [laughs and then hums the opening riff] Mmeeuurgggghhhmah. Mmeeuurgggghhhmah. Mmeeuurgggghhhmah. It’s a deep cut.”
He then remembered when he first discovered the ‘Project Blowed’ album, which featured the song:
“It came out when I was in college [at Berklee College of Music in Boston]. That was when I discovered a whole new world of music. It was like all the music nerds across America met in Boston. My mind was exploding with all these new discoveries.”
Eric also told NME that the first song he remembers hearing was Lionel Richie’s ‘All Night Long,‘ and the song he wants to be played at his funeral is Albert Ayler’s ‘Truth Is Marching In.‘
André had a musical side project named Blarf, which was active in the early 2000s. He revived the name of the band as a solo act in 2019 and released the debut album ‘Cease & Desist‘ on June 26, 2019.
In March, Adult Swim announced that the sixth season of ‘The Eric André Show’ will premiere on June 4.
