Blake Lively’s younger sister Robyn Lively has gained recognition for her contributions to the entertainment industry. Born in 1972, Robyn was one of the three children adopted by Ernie and Elaine Lively.
The actress made her acting debut as a child artist in the television movie ‘Summer of My German Soldier.’ She later stepped into the world of feature films with the comedy-drama ‘The Best of Times,’ in which she acted alongside Robin Williams and Kurt Russell.
One of her notable appearances was in ‘The Karate Kid Part III,’ where she portrayed Jessica, a love interest for Ralph Macchio’s character, Daniel. Due to the considerable age gap between Robyn, who was only 16 at the time, and Ralph, who was 27, the film’s creators opted to rewrite the storyline, converting their romance into a friendship.
In recent times, the actress made a return to the limelight with her reprisal of the role of Jessica in the hit Netflix series ‘Cobra Kai.’ The series revealed that Daniel had married Jessica’s cousin, Amanda, played by Robyn, breathing new life into her character’s legacy.
In an interview with People last year, Lively discussed how it felt bringing Jessica back to life in ‘Cobra Kai’ with the following words:
“It was so wonderful; I can’t even tell you. When I got the script, I couldn’t imagine how they were going to integrate Jessica into the ‘Cobra Kai’ universe. And hats off to [creators] Josh [Heald], Jon [Hurwitz], and Hayden [Schlossberg] for coming up with this ingenious way to weave her into the universe by being a part of the LaRusso family. It’s beyond anything I could have imagined. I just think they absolutely hit this one out of the park, and they could not have come up with a better story for her, in my opinion.
Apart from her successful acting career, Robyn is also known for her marriage to actor Bart Johnson, who is recognized by many for his role as Coach Bolton in the ‘High School Musical’ series. The couple tied the knot in 1999 and now has three children – daughter Kate and sons Baylen and Wyatt Blake.
