Zoe Saldana established her name in cinema by starring in the top-grossing blockbusters like ‘Avatar,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ With a global box office of over $14 billion, she ranks as one of the highest-grossing film actresses. Although she is primarily known for her sci-fi works, Saldana’s all-time favorite film is from a different genre.
In 2018, Zoe joined US Weekly to discuss 25 things about her life off-screen, including memories like her first car and proudest achievements to her earliest job experiences and deepest fears. When it comes to naming her favorite movie, the actress said:
“My favorite movie is Tony Scott’s ‘The Hunger.’ It’s an amazing love story between an immortal and a mortal.”
‘The Hunger,’ made back in 1983, features Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, and Susan Sarandon in its cast. It’s a movie that blends elements of love, horror, and vampires. The story revolves around a doctor who studies sleep and aging and her romantic involvement with a vampire couple.
During her interview, Saldana also shared memories of her concert experiences. She recalled the nights when she attended a live performance by the Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine and how she was captivated by the two band’s music, saying:
“I once went to see the Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine. I was blown away. I did not integrate myself into the mosh pit.”
The actress will return to the cinema screen for the upcoming ‘Avatar 3’ and ‘Avatar 4’ sequels. Her recent project, ‘Special Ops: Lioness,’ where she plays a CIA officer, premiered on July 23, 2023, on Paramount+.
