Billie Eilish is famous for her varying style preferences. Following her latest album ‘Happier Than Ever,’ Eilish has adopted a more feminine look, and it seems this resulted in criticism. In her recent Instagram stories, the singer slammed Internet trolls for criticizing her change in style.
Although Eilish didn’t share the comments she responded to, she highlighted that she’d been criticized for being boyish in the first five years of her career. She wrote:
“I spent the first 5 years of my career getting absolutely OBLITERATED by you fools for being boyish and dressing how I did & constantly being told I’d be hotter if I acted like a woman. And now, when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I CHANGED and am a sellout.. and ‘what happened to her,’ ‘oMg iT’s not the samE Billie, she’s just like the rest,’ blah blah… You guys are true idiots. LOL. I can be BOTH, you f*cking bozos. LET WOMEN EXIST!”
In a follow-up Instagram story, Eilish implied that women could like different fashion styles, and they don’t have to stick to only one of them:
“FUN FACT! did you know that women are multifaceted? Shocking, right? Believe it or not, women can be interested in multiple things.”
Eilish continued, highlighting it’s normal to want to express herself differently, and being feminine is nothing of a weakness:
“Also, that femininity does not equal weakness?! omg?! Insane, right? Who knew? And also, totally unheard of and insane to want to express yourself differently at different times.“
She then ended her response with a final remark:
“Suck my absolute c**k and b***s, you women hating a** weirdos.”
In 2019, Eilish spoke to Calvin Klein and revealed that there was a reason she wore baggy clothes. She said:
“I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath. Nobody can be like, ‘Oh, she’s slim-thick, she’s not slim-thick, she’s got a flat *ss, she’s got a fat *ss.’ No one can say any of that because they don’t know.”
