In a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Cara Delevigne opened up to Clarkson about her recovery process. Looking back on her past struggle with addiction issues, the runway model said she doesn’t have any regrets about her past mistakes.

Clarkson told Cara about the ever-changing aspect of life and asked her whether she had been on a self-discovery journey. Cara responded:

“I feel like no matter what, throughout your life, healing is the most important thing in the world. Mistakes are meant to be made, but the thing about mistakes is if you learn from them, they can be the greatest lesson. You can’t learn from anything better than mistakes. I’ve always been on that [self-discovery] journey, but I think I’ve just been young. That’s not an excuse.”

Clarkson chimed in by saying she doesn’t believe in regrets. Cara then continued:

“No, I don’t have any regrets. But it’s really interesting because you kind of have to take a step back and realize what’s important in life.”

After sparking fan concern in September 2022 with her shoeless airport appearance, Delevigne checked into rehab. Speaking to Vogue magazine, she said that these pictures helped her to see that she didn’t look well:

“I hadn’t slept. I was not okay. It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point, it was like, ‘Okay, I don’t look well.’ You know, sometimes you need a reality check, so in a way, those pictures were something to be grateful for.”

In the same interview, Cara looked back on the time she flew to Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for Burning Man. As she recalled, she put herself in danger several times:

“There’s an element of feeling invincible when I’m on drugs. I put myself in danger in those moments because I don’t care about my life. I would climb anything and jump off stuff… it felt feral. It’s a scary thing to the people around you who love you.”
