From ‘Fast and Furious’ to the life of motherhood, Elsa Pataky’s no stranger to the demands of a busy life. During a 2019 interview with Women’s Health, she got candid about her fitness journey and daily routine, revealing she and her husband, Chris Hemsworth, value health and wellness even during their busy schedule.

Balancing Motherhood and Fitness

Demands of her film roles and being a full-time mom to her three children – India, aged eleven, and twins Sasha and Tristan, both nine – are challenging for Elsa. However, she emphasizes the importance of physical activity for her well-being. For her, missing out on training causes her energy levels to plummet:

“I can’t be without training for more than two weeks – I just get really nervous, and my energy starts to go down.”

Moreover, she recognizes the benefits of exercise for mental health. Beginning a workout regimen, she notes, offers not only physical transformation but also a sense of achievement.

Life as a parent is unpredictable, and Elsa’s dietary habits mirror this unpredictability at times. While rushing to get her children ready on some mornings, she admitted she unintentionally skips meals, only realizing by midday that she hasn’t consumed anything.

When it comes to dieting, Elsa opts for balance over extremes:

“I hate extremes in everything, so I always love to kind of be in the middle. I learned a lot about macrobiotics, but I need other things, too. You have to find what your body craves and what is good for it… For a while, everyone was like, ‘no carbs,’ which I think is a big mistake.”

Instead of complete carb elimination, she promotes a more holistic approach, saying what’s important is identifying what one’s body genuinely needs.

The ‘Centr’ App

Moving beyond their individual pursuits, Elsa and Chris have combined their passion for fitness and well-being in their lifestyle app, ‘Centr.‘ The app brings together experts from the domains of fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness. While it’s mainly Chris’ project, Elsa expressed her eagerness to participate actively in the venture:

“I think those three things are very important to keep healthy and happy. Chris put it together, but I wanted to be a part of it, too.”
