Isan Elba
Born in 2002 to Idris and his first wife, Kim Norgaard, Isan Elba remained relatively out of the spotlight in her earlier years. However, as she matured, she began to step into the public eye on her terms.
One of Isan’s public appearances was in 2019 when she took on the role of a Golden Globe ambassador. The position enabled her to select a platform to champion, and she chose to address mental health among Black teens.
During an interview with Glamour, Isan expressed an interest in the behind-the-scenes aspect of filmmaking. She also revealed a keen understanding of various film roles and hinted at her own future aspirations in the field.
Winston Elba
Winston, the younger of the two, was born in April 2014 to Idris and Naiyana Garth. He shares a connection with his grandfather, as he was named after Idris’s late father, who passed away just a year before Winston’s birth.
Idris Elba has spoken about his role as a father in a Cosmopolitan interview. On the importance of being present and involved in his children’s lives, he said:
“As much as it’s nice to be busy and working, ultimately, children don’t raise themselves. You’ve got to be there to help them and guide them through it. That’s one thing I try my very best to do.”
Despite being the son of an actor, Winston is not frequently seen in public. Still, he’s been spotted with Idris, like a 2018 outing in Paris, where father and son were seen walking hand in hand.
