Garth Brooks Explains His Disappointment With His Daughter Over An Adele Song

During a round of Rockstar Roulette on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Garth Brooks happened to get Adele. Following that, he recalled a hilarious memory where he felt disappointed in her youngest daughter for ‘an Adele song.’

When Adele’s name appeared on the screen, Brooks admitted:

“This is tough. This is tough because the story that comes to mind is not a good one.”

After some laughs, he recalled how his daughter let him down:

“Yeah, I’m so sorry. Probably 12-13 years ago, my youngest came in from school, and she goes, ‘Dad, Dad, you’ve got to hear this song from Adele! I’ve never heard a song like it.’ I said, ‘Really? What’s its name?’ She says, ‘To Make You Feel My Love.’ I said, ‘You have to be kidding me, right?’ No, I didn’t say anything. I said, ‘Really? Tell me about it.’ People always ask which is her favorite version, and I say, ‘I don’t know, we haven’t spoken since that day.”

‘Make You Feel My Love’ is a song written by Bob Dylan for his 1997 album ‘Time Out Of My Mind.’ A song that is considered a standard in the 21st century, it’s been covered by over 400 artists, such as Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Garth Brooks, and Pink.

Brooks kicked off his ‘Garth Brooks/Plus ONE’ concert residency on May 18, and due to high demand, it will extend to 2024.
