Diane Kruger, renowned for her roles in blockbuster movies like ‘Inglourious Basterds’ and ‘Troy,’ has long been a subject of curiosity when it comes to her beauty. Unlike most Hollywood stars, Kruger prefers a simple but effective approach to beauty. In a 2017 interview with Coveteur, Diane revealed her skincare secrets and her method to maintain healthy skin regardless of age.

The actress, who has always had sensitive skin, emphasizes the importance of a gentle skincare routine. To cope with acute skin problems, Kruger prefers to simply wash her face with Cetaphil. Diane also adapts her skincare routine to the changing seasons. She loves Chanel’s Le Lift in the winter, a creamy moisturizer that provides deep hydration during the colder months. In contrast, during the summer, she opts for Le Weekend, a lighter product that keeps her skin feeling fresh.

Diane explained the stages of her skincare routine in detail:

“I usually wash my face with something like Cetaphil. I have really sensitive skin. I like to use the Chanel toner. It depends on if it’s summer or winter; in the winter, I love Le Lift; it’s really thick and creamy, and then in the summer, I use Le Weekend.

[At night] I take my makeup off. I just wash my face; I never get facials. I break out really easily, so once I find a product I like, I stick to it.”

Kruger’s approach to makeup is as minimalistic as her skincare. She prefers a less-is-more philosophy, even on the red carpet. Her understated elegance stands out amidst the glamour of Hollywood.

One unique aspect of Diane’s beauty routine is her talent for doing her own makeup. She revealed that she gets inspiration from fashion shows when deciding on her makeup looks and often handles her makeup herself.

The ‘Troy’ actress shared her unusual take on makeup:

“I get my makeup done so often for work and for photo shoots. On the red carpet, it’s a different thing; the red carpet is not so precise. I always feel like less is more, and I don’t like to be too made up on the red carpet. I like to go online and look at the fashion shows to get inspiration for hair or makeup because I do my own makeup.”

When it comes to beauty regrets, Diane also revealed that she has made some mistakes, too:

“When I became a model, the fashion was really skinny, thin eyebrows. My very first photo shoot, this makeup artist in Germany was like, ‘yeah, we should really pluck your eyebrows,’ and I was like, ‘yeah, sure.’ I looked like I was always astonished.

I look back on those pictures; I look like I’m 100 years old because I look like Mae West. I’ve done it all; I’ve worn really weird eye shadow, bad color hair, you name it.”

Kruger’s ultimate beauty routine is a blend of skincare simplicity, adaptable practices, a minimalistic approach to makeup, and a deep connection with her own style evolution. Her dedication to maintaining her skin’s health, regardless of sensitive skin challenges, serves as a source of inspiration for all.
