Tony and Emmy award-winning actress, singer, and performer Kristin Chenoweth showed her talent both on stage and on screen. From her breakout role as Glinda in the musical ‘Wicked’ to her Emmy-winning performance in ‘Pushing Daisies,’ Chenoweth has become a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
Despite her numerous successes, Kristin, like anyone else, has experienced moments of regret. In a 2016 chat with San Francisco Chronicle, she was asked if she would be willing to discuss the worst outfit she has ever worn. Her response was both humorous and reflective, as she said:
“It’s burned in my memory. I was doing ‘The Fantasticks’ off-Broadway, 19 or 20 years ago. It was hot, and I was so happy to be in New York. It was at a time when little short prairie skirts were popular with T-shirts that had random sayings on them, and lumberjack boots with the socks. “
The actress continued:
“I was trying to fit in. For many reasons, that outfit didn’t work for me. The T-shirt? I’m not small-busted, and the T-shirt was pulling. The saying on the shirt said, ‘Little Darlin’.’ The prairie skirt was too big; I couldn’t afford a tailor then. It kept falling.”
She further recalled, adding:
“Then I had the lumberjack boots. I thought it might be cute to wear my hair half up and half down in a ponytail. I can’t discuss the way it looked. It was horrific — and somebody caught a picture of me smiling with a Coke in my hand. I thought, ‘This is not what I want to be remembered for.'”
The performer also reflected on her personal style during the same interview, saying it evolved over the years. At one point, she had a bohemian phase, but she embraced a more classic style in the following years.
