Dua Lipa recently shared a new song titled ‘Dance The Night’ as the lead single for the ‘Barbie’ soundtrack. After the song was out, DJ Mark Ronson celebrated the release with an Instagram post. As Ronson revealed in the post’s caption, he contacted Lipa via DMs to convince her to work on the song.

Mark Ronson’s Instagram post read:

It started with a DM. So over the moon excited that our song from this incredible movie is finally out today. Produced with my brothers in song, Andrew Wyatt and Picard Brothers, and written with Caroline Ailin.”

In the post, Ronson shared a screenshot of his message to Dua Lipa. The message read:

“Hey! I’m doing the songs for the ‘Barbie’ movie with Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. It’s directed by Greta Gerwig (‘Little Women,’ ‘Ladybird’) and may be the funniest script I’ve ever read. There’s a song with a huge 60-person dance number with the whole cast — I only have the track so far, as they started rehearsals, but I would f*cking love it if you would consider co-writing and starring on it. I honestly think the movie is going to be incredible. If you’re interested, I’ll send you a little video of them all rehearsing, so you can see the scope of it all.”

On May 25, Ronson tweeted a picture of Margot Robbie as Barbie, holding a newspaper that shows the artists that will be featured in the upcoming ‘Barbie’ soundtrack. According to the picture, ‘Barbie: The Album‘ will feature artists like Ava Max, Dua Lipa, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Ryan Gosling, and Tame Impala. The soundtrack will be out on July 21, the same day as the movie.
