Woody Harrelson and Laura Louie, are household names in their own right. But today, we’re shining the spotlight on the next generation – their daughter, Zoe Giordano Harrelson.
In October 2021, Woody had an altercation with a man who was photographing her without permission. Although he asked the man to stop, things escalated quickly and led Woody to punch him in the face. After this incident, fans became eager to know who Zoe was.
Born in September 1996, Zoe was introduced to the arts from a young age, with the encouragement of her parents. She showed an interest in creative arts, including writing, singing, acting, and sketching.
Zoe’s father Woody is an actor known for his roles in ‘The People vs. Larry Flynt’ (1996), ‘The Messenger’ (2009), ‘True Detective’ (2014), ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ (2017), and others. Laura, her mother, is a businesswoman and founder of Yoganics and Yoganics Hawaii, food delivery services situated in Texas.
Woody and Laura met in 1987 while Laura was working as Woody’s assistant. The couple got married in 2008 after dating for 18 years. Woody was previously married to Nancy Simons in 1985, but they divorced the following year. Zoe has two siblings, an elder sister named Deni Montana Harrelson, and a younger sister named Makani Ravello Harrelson.
Like her older sister, Zoe was homeschooled before attending regular school for high school. However, her father Woody regretted this decision, admitting that it wasn’t the best action:
“We used to homeschool the first two, which I guess is another way of saying that we didn’t worry about their education. I always feel like they learn more by just hanging with me and going places. But no, they eventually wanted to go to school, and that really put a big wedge between our, you know, hang time.”
Growing up away from the spotlight, Zoe began her career in the entertainment industry with an appearance in U2’s 2015 music video for ‘Song for Someone.’ The same year, she had a public speaking experience when she gave a TEDx Talk at her high school. Later, Zoe was involved in the comedy movie ‘Lost in London,’ which her father directed and starred in.
In Woody’s eyes, Zoe is a strong girl. As reported by HuffPost, here is what the actor said about his daughters:
“I am a great example for my daughters for what not to do. But they are strong and tough; they see through falseness. At the same time, they are optimistic and open.”
