Since One Direction took a break from making music together in 2015, rumors have circulated about a possible reunion. Recently speaking to Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Niall Horan disclosed that they didn’t converse about it, but there are different options on the table, including a ‘Friends-like’ reunion.
The singer replied to a question about the matter:
“It’s just like the conversation hasn’t happened. It’s a great legacy to have. No, I don’t think [asking about the reunion] sucks the air out the room. It’s more, the answer’s still the same. The conversation hasn’t happened.”
He revealed they communicate regularly, but there is no final decision:
“We speak regularly, but that conversation hasn’t happened. God knows whether it ends up being — it could be like the ‘Friends‘ reunion, it could be a whole tour. God knows what it is, but no, it hasn’t been spoken about.”
In an appearance on the Late Late Show With James Corden in April, Harry Styles gave a green light about the possibility of a 1D reunion, saying:
“I fear that it’s not a yes or no question. I think I would never say never to that. If there was a time when we wanted to do it, I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”
One Direction actually reunited last month, but two of the members, Styles and Zayn Malik, were missing. Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan entered the studio together to contribute to Liam’s second solo album.
