Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme recently addressed the haters and the gossip made about the feud between him and his family. During the interview, after a mention of the statement he made earlier about his ex-wife, Homme said:
“How’s the best way to say this? It’s not my job to go door to door and convince people not to hate me if they want to jump to that conclusion. It’s my job to show the little people in my house what to do when that happens.”
The frontman then revealed his approach to the gossip circulating about him:
“The world has become increasingly more about gossip, and gossip is so strong and prevalent it’s like the waves crashing in the ocean – you think it’s receded and then another wave crashes again. But honestly, what should I do? What would you do? What do you do when people say things about you that are wildly untrue, what do you do? I don’t f*cking say anything. I turn around and say, ‘That’s not my concern.'”
The mentioned statement was released in May, reporting that Homme wouldn’t make any public statements related to his family out of respect.
Homme has been dealing with the custody battle of his minor children since his divorce from his ex-wife Brody Dalle, the Distillers frontwoman, in 2019. According to Homme’s statement, the Los Angeles Family Court awarded him sole custody of all three children of the former couple in March 2022.
Reportedly, the two sons’ restraining orders for their father were made by the ex-wife’s current boyfriend Gunner Foxx, who allegedly drafted and filed the documents and forged Dalle’s name. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the daughter herself drafted her own restraining order.
While Dalle was ordered to serve community service for her actions, Homme is waiting for the next hearing later this year.
