In a 2022 interview on the ‘Real Ones with Jon Bernthal’ podcast, Shia LaBeouf opened up about his tumultuous relationship with Mia Goth. He credited Goth for bringing light back into his life and expressed deep appreciation for her unwavering support, even during his time in rehab:

“She saved my f*cking life. Sometimes all you need to offer a person who’s in a situation like that is just to be present. And she was present for me at a time when I didn’t deserve to have anybody in my life, especially her.”

In a candid moment, LaBeouf reflected on his past behavior, admitting to having mistreated Goth and others. He expressed remorse for his actions and acknowledged the consequences they may have on his daughter’s perception of him:

“There’s a lot I need to work on. Having a daughter and knowing that your daughter is one day going to search your name in a search engine and see that you are a deplorable, disgusting piece of sh*t, that sh*t hits. I have now until she’s literate to create a relationship with her where she knows me more than this idea of who I am in public.”

LaBeouf then addressed the #MeToo movement, highlighting the lack of men taking accountability within the industry. He recognized the need for change and expressed his intention to make amends for being a ‘pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being’ in the past:

“When I think about what my life has become, and what it is now, like what my purpose is now… I need to be useful. And when I look at this #MeToo environment, there’s not a whole lot of dudes that are taking accountability. I know I got work to do, and I know that it’s going to be OK in the end, and if it’s not OK, it’s not the end.”

Despite their ups and downs, LaBeouf expressed gratitude for Goth’s support during his challenging times. He recognizes the impact of his past actions and aims to create a better relationship with his daughter, away from the public’s perception. With an introspective approach, LaBeouf seeks to change his behavior and navigate professional relationships differently.

LaBeouf and Goth began dating in December 2012 after meeting on the set of the film ‘Nymphomaniac: Vol II.’ Their relationship garnered attention, with the couple starring together in the provocative film. However, as with any relationship, they faced their fair share of difficulties.

In July 2015, LaBeouf and Goth made headlines after engaging in a heated argument, which was captured in an Entertainment Tonight video. The incident raised concerns about their relationship’s health. In 2016, the two were spotted wearing wedding rings in 2016. However, it turned out their ceremony wasn’t a legally binding one.

Two years later, the pair went on their separate ways, and LaBeouf moved on with his ‘Honey Boy’ co-star, FKA Twigs, who later accused him of relentless abuse and sexual battery. Following Twigs’ accusations, the actor entered rehab for treatment. Despite the challenges they faced, LaBeouf and Goth reconciled in March 2020, as they were spotted together in Los Angeles wearing their wedding rings.

The couple’s on-again, off-again dynamic continued, with their romantic status remaining ambiguous. In January 2022, Mia Goth was seen with a noticeable baby bump, sparking speculation about her pregnancy. Later that year, LaBeouf confirmed the birth of their daughter, Isabel, expressing his joy and referring to Mia Goth as his wife.
