Who Was Christian Brando?

Born on May 11, 1958, to Marlon Brando and actress Anna Kashfi, Christian had a deteriorated relationship with his father. He was once arrested for shooting at an abandoned structure and got into drugs and alcohol.

The most significant scandal that Christian faced was the shooting of Dag Drollet, the boyfriend of his half-sister Cheyenne Brando, in 1990. The incident took place at Marlon’s residence, and he claimed it was to defend Cheyenne from Drollet.

Christian had multiple guns in the house, and Drollet was killed with a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol. He also had a blood-alcohol level of .19 percent at the time of the incident.

Afterward, Christian was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, which was later reduced to voluntary manslaughter. In his trial, he claimed the shooting was accidental. However, the jury eventually found him guilty, leading to a sentence of 10 years in prison. He served five years before being released on parole in 1996.

After his release, Christian tried to lead a low-profile life. He passed away on January 26, 2008, at the age of 49, from pneumonia.

Cheyenne Brando’s Story

Cheyenne Brando was born on February 20, 1970, to Marlon and Tarita Teriipaia. Despite her promising start as a fashion model, Cheyenne’d life took a turn following the incident involving her brother Christian and boyfriend Dag Drollet.

Cheyenne was pregnant at the time of the shooting and was battling with depression. The tragedy, combined with personal challenges, impacted her deeply. This eventually led her to attempt suicide multiple times.

Marlon took an active role in managing the case. Cheyenne’s mental state was questionable; she misdated her baby’s birth and spent more time in hospitals than at home. Circumstantial evidence suggested Christian’s history of violence, while photos from the crime scene painted a conflicting narrative of the event.

In an effort to move past the tragedy, Marlon sent Cheyenne to Tahiti. Unfortunately, her struggles persisted. Cheyenne was declared mentally unfit to testify during her brother’s trial due to her deteriorating mental state. She passed away on April 16, 1995, in Tahiti, at the age of 25, from suicide.

The Lives of Marlon Brando’s Other Children

Apart from Christian and Cheyenne, Marlon was a father to nine other children — Miko, Rebecca, Simon, Maimiti, Raiatua, Ninna, Petra, and Timothy.

Miko was born in 1961 to Marlon and actress Movita Castaneda. He has worked in the film industry and appeared in the movies ‘Inchon,’ ‘Pancho’s Pizza,’ and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.’ Miko can also be seen in Michael Jackson’s music videos for ‘You Rock My World‘ and ‘Thriller.‘

Born in 1963, Simon Teihotu was Marlon’s son with Tarita. He now works at ‘The Brando’ resort in French Polynesia and has three children. Rebecca was the second child of Marlon and Movita Castaneda. Born in 1966, she works as a Marriage and Family Therapist and with the Tetiaroa Society for environmental activism.

Over the years, Marlon adopted three of his children — Maimiti, who was Teriipaia’s daughter from another relationship; Raiatua, Teriipaia’s niece; and Petra, who’s the daughter of his assistant Caroline.

Marlon had three other children from his relationship with his former housekeeper, Maria Cristina Ruiz — Ninna Priscilla, Myles Jonathan, and Timothy Gahan. Like many of their siblings, they chose to stay away from Hollywood.
