‘Continuum’ had its own fanbase when it came out in 2012 but didn’t have a large audience. So, the show was canceled in 2015 and left some of the storylines unexplored while the TV series’ creator, Simon Barry, hinted at other projects for them.

The channel gave ‘Continuum’ a fourth season to wrap everything up. But with only six episodes in the final season, Barry didn’t give every character a clear end. That year, he talked about this matter in a chat with TV Goodness:

“We did have a plan to show the Traveler’s story and branch out and tell his story in much more detail and [explore] how his journey connected to the larger ‘Continuum’ mythology. Unfortunately, the time to play that out just wasn’t available to us in the last season, so we had to shortcut it and see what we could use as opposed to building a backstory [that would take up] real estate we needed for our main characters.”

On the other hand, he mentioned some other plans for the ‘Continuum’ universe by saying:

“Hopefully, there will be an opportunity to tell some of the story of the Continuum universe in other formats, whether that’s a novel or graphic novel or other forms of storytelling that haven’t been invented yet. I think at a certain point, other components will get their due, but we couldn’t squeeze it into our last six episodes. I would have loved to, but there wasn’t time.”

Since his statements in 2015, Barry hasn’t announced any new ‘Continuum’ projects. But he wrote the backstory of the 2065 war between the Corporations and Liber8 in an eight-part graphic novel in the show’s early years.
