Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds recently revealed how his therapist saved his life. In an interview with Good Morning America, the band chatted about their new documentary ‘Imagine Dragons: Live in Vegas’ while discussing mental health and depression. During the chat, the band was asked about the importance of talking about mental health in their songs. The frontman replied:

“I think it’s a big part of just the natural message of Imagine Dragons. You know, lyrically, I’m always just writing, like, a diary, and that’s been a big part of my life, is mental health and learning to live with depression.”

Reynolds revealed his therapists coming to the band’s shows and shared his thoughts on achieving goals:

“I’ve had multiple therapists who have come to shows throughout the years. I think it is really important for people to talk about it in all aspects, whether you’re famous, whether you’re an athlete. I think it’s really important for kids to see, ‘Hey, just because I reached my goal, my ultimate goal, that doesn’t mean that that’s going to fix something.'”

He concluded by mentioning the part his therapist has in his life:

“Having a therapist has saved my life, and so I think when something saves your life, you’re gonna talk about it.”

Reynolds has talked about his mental health many times. In one of his earlier interviews, the frontman revealed that when he was first diagnosed with depression, he had lost interest in all of his hobbies except music. He also admitted to having survived his depression by working out.

The documentary is now streaming on Hulu. The film includes candid interviews with the band and live footage from the Allegiant show on September 10, 2022.

Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds recently appeared in a jiu-jitsu tournament this Tuesday.

Reynolds participated in the Masters 2 tournament for the 222 & Underweight class at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Worlds 2023 event. Representing Renzo Gracie Los Angeles, Reynolds triumphed over Rocky Bang but was later defeated by Tyree Saxton Jr. Still, he made a comeback by winning two matches against Kent Brower and Moises Lister, ultimately securing the bronze medal.

Reynolds was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune disorder that affects blood flow and pressure. He began lifting weights and doing yoga to heal and maintain a healthier lifestyle, which could be the reason for him to have achieved the medal.
