Demi Lovato recently appeared in an episode of The Howard Stern Show and talked about whether her ‘Cool for The Summer’ track was written to a woman. Demi reminded Howard that the song was released before she came out as a bisexual. When Stern asked if Lovato’s management intervened in her coming out experience, she answered:

“No, no.”

She then further explained the real reason why her coming out was later than the song release, and she told how her father reacted:

“I just grew up in a Christian home and was kind of traumatized in that area, didn’t want to come out. And when I came out, my dad was like ‘Yeah, you have a song called ‘Cool For The Summer.'”

Stern asked whether her crush is a celebrity, she said:

“What if she is? Yeah [she is famous].”

When Howard questioned why Demi is sensitive about keeping her name private, she pointed out her relationship with Jutes:

“This was never public, no. I’m in a relationship now and I feel like that would be inappropriate.”

Demi was evasive about the questions in a tongue-in-cheek way. She quickly said:

“I missed the moment, should have said it back then.”

Demi Lovato came together with their partner Jutes in the beginning of 2022 and Jutes worked as a songwriter in their now previous album ‘HOLY FVCK.’ In a recent interview, Demi mentioned how good and healthy their relationship feels like, praising Jutes:

“I’m in an amazing relationship. My boyfriend is a year older than me, and we’re growing together and it feels so healthy. We actually met in the studio. So he’s an artist, but he’s also a songwriter. He came in to write on one of my sessions and I was in the studio and was immediately attracted to him. I like texted my friends on the side and was like, ‘He’s so hot!'”

Demi Lovato recently appeared on Sirius XM’s ‘Andy Cohen Live’ to discuss their personal history and career. During the interview, they talked about their past struggles with drug abuse, sharing their wishes about that period. The ‘Stone Cold’ singer said:

“Well, I wouldn’t change my path because I don’t have any regrets. The closest thing that I get to a regret is when I overdosed, and I wish somebody had told me, one, that I was beautiful because I didn’t believe it. And two, I wish that someone would’ve told me that if you just sit with the pain, it passes.”

Lovato also revealed the lasting effects of their 2018 overdose, which caused them vision and hearing impairment. They noted:

“It’s a daily constant reminder. Anytime I look at something — like, I have blind spots in my vision when I look at your face. And so it’s a constant reminder to stay on the right path because I never want that to happen again.”

In 2021, the singer shared their experiences in a docuseries called ‘Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil.’ They spoke of the project with People upon its trailer release, sharing further details about their journey and explaining:

“Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned. It was a painful journey, and I look back, and sometimes I get sad when I think of the pain that I had to endure to overcome what I have, but I don’t regret anything.”

According to recent news, Lovato has been sober for the last few years. Currently, they are working on their new album that will feature the rock versions of their hit songs. The upcoming album, ‘ Revamped’, will be released on September 15.
