Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce recently appeared on Rock Sound to discuss the band’s upcoming album ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ During the interview, Bruce revealed that he won’t be able to tour due to his wife’s condition.

While chatting about the aims for the new album and the band’s priorities, the guitarist shared that his top priority is his family. He then explained his wife’s condition:

“It’s getting harder and harder to go on tour, and actually, I’m at a point now where I don’t think I can really tour very much at all anymore. My wife, she was born with glaucoma. So she was actually born blind, and due to a series of operations, when she was in surgeries when she was a newborn, they managed to bring back her vision to an extent, and it’s been declining over the years.”

Bruce continued by explaining why it would be so hard to tour with his wife’s condition:

“She’s lost her vision in her left eye completely now, so she can’t drive anymore. So when I go on tour, she’s left with four kids, she can’t drive, so she can’t do the grocery shopping, she can’t do the school run, she can’t take the kids to the doctors, she’s always relying on someone else to be free to help her, which is just not really fair to the kids, to her, to me.”

Two months ago, Asking Alexandria canceled their European tour after the drummer James Cassells broke his foot. The band made an official statement saying that a specialist advised the drummer to rest and not play drums for a while.

Now the band is scheduled to go on tour with The HU on August 30, which is uncertain whether or not the guitarist will be involved.

‘Where Do We Go From Now?’ is set to be released on August 25.
