After recovering from prostate cancer in the early 2000s, Alan Rickman had a minor stroke in 2015, leading to a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. His part as Severus Snape in the ‘Harry Potter’ film series introduced him to a younger generation of fans in the years following ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone.’ In fact, the series largely contributed to his earnings, placing him as the 20th highest-grossing actor in movie history.

Celebrity Net Worth suggested that Rickman had a net worth of $16 million, with his films grossing over $3.4 billion over the years. Further details from The Mirror mentioned that he had assets worth more than £4 million in the UK and additional assets in Italy.

The news website wrote that Rickman’s will specified that £100,000 of his fortune was to be divided among four charities: the Facial Surgery Research Foundation, the International Performers Aid Trust, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Sponsored Arts for Education. Although the actor, who didn’t have any children, left a big portion of his wealth to his wife, Rima Horton, each of his three nieces also received £25,000.

A few years after his death, The Guardian reported that Canongate and Alan Taylor would publish Rickman’s diaries, spanning over 25 years, as a book. The book, ‘Madly, Deeply: The Alan Rickman Diaries,’ came out in October 2022.

While many know Daniel Radcliffe as the young wizard in the Harry Potter films, it seems a superhero aspiration has lingered in his heart for quite some time.

Regardless of their successes, many Hollywood actors still have roles they deeply desire to play. These dream roles can range from fantasy characters to real-world personas. In Radcliffe’s case, it has always been the web-slinging superhero from New York City. But why Spider-Man?

In past interviews, Radcliffe spoke about his affinity for the hero. In 2016, he shared that he has always wanted to play the role of Spider-Man but felt the opportunity might have eluded him due to the character being reprised multiple times in his lifetime. In his words, the boat has perhaps ‘sailed on that.’

While Radcliffe might feel the Spider-Man role is beyond his grasp, he was not shy about expressing his appreciation for those who have donned the Spidey suit:

“The one I would be a natural fit for has now been done by three very good actors. Tom Holland is incredible, and no one could ever replace him, so I’ll let that one go.”

In celebrating the 20th anniversary of the ‘Harry Potter’ film series, the reunion special titled ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’ premiered on HBO Max on January 1, 2022. While many familiar faces from the world of the series came together for it, David Thewlis, known for his role as Remus Lupin, was absent. The actor had a rather unique reason for his no-show.

As fans began questioning this absence from the reunion, the actor decided to address the curiosity on social media. Taking to Instagram, he shared a comical image of himself, seemingly distraught, covering his eyes with his hands. In the caption, Thewlis explained:

“Many of you have been asking why I was not present at the recent ‘HP’ cast reunion. Well, last year, as some of you may recall, I foolishly posted what I thought was an amusing picture of a Lupin action figure to which I had attached some comically large feet. It seems I did this on a sensitive anniversary, upsetting many.”

He further added, reflecting more on his absence:

“This led to an enormous number of fans (and some cast members) taking to the streets in protest and signing a petition demanding that I be banned from any future Potter celebrations. In my defense, it was my wife’s idea. I did not realize the significance of the date, and following the advice of my legal team, the post has since been removed. I hope that has cleared things up.”

However, it should be noted that this explanation was delivered with a tongue-in-cheek tone, and there is no actual evidence of such a post on the internet. He chose not to give the actual reason behind his absence in the post, leaving room for playful speculation.
