Jennifer Aniston has quite the movie catalog, including her appearances in ‘The Break-Up,’ ‘The Good Girl,’ and ‘Wanderlust.’ So, selecting a favorite among her many films can be a challenging task.

However, during an encounter at ‘The Girl on the Train’ junket in 2016, E! News asked Aniston’s then-husband, Justin Theroux, to share his favorite film from her career. The actor said:

“Oh God, what’s my favorite Jen movie? I think ‘Cake,’ not just because it was her most recent one. I loved her in ‘Good Girl,’ and her comedies are fabulous. Loved her in ‘Wanderlust’… She’s always so present and good.”

The 2014 movie ‘Cake,’ directed by Daniel Barnz and featuring Jennifer Aniston, Adriana Barraza, Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Anna Kendrick, and Sam Worthington, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film tells the story of a woman who struggles to move on from trauma because her physical pain constantly reminds her of her emotional wounds. Aniston plays the main character Claire Bennett, who is both cranky and sarcastic, taking out her frustration on those close to her.

In a 2014 chat with Deadline, the actress said her role in ‘Cake’ was tough on her body. She had pinched nerves from being in that space for five weeks, but she enjoyed it and missed it when it was done. She described the experience as being like part of a little theater group.

‘Cake’ got both good and bad reviews and only made about $2.9 million, but it cost between $7 to $10 million to make. Even though the movie didn’t do so well, Jennifer’s acting in it was well-liked, and she got nominated for awards at the Golden Globe Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
