In a recent episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors, ‘The White Lotus” Theo James and ‘Ted Lasso’s Bret Goldstein sat down and talked about highlights from their acting careers. During the conversation, James revealed how he and Meghann Fahy found the chemistry between each other before their roles as husband and wife.

When Goldstein asked James how they got comfortable with each other, James revealed what they did to become the ‘effervescent couple’ Mike White wanted:

“We spent a lot of time together. It’s a bit of potluck, like chemistry or even if you like hanging out with a person, you know, sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s really hard. Because we’re supposed to be married, and Mike wants it to be the effervescent couple, who even though disagree with each other’s views, you want the energy to be centered around them. So, there needs to be genuine love and genuine tactility between them.”

James then recalled the time he met Fahy. As it seems, the actress’ easygoing personality made things easier for the two:

“When she flew in, essentially, I just called her, and I was like, ‘We should hang out as much as possible. Is that okay?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, would love to.’ So we just hung out, and luckily she’s a very relaxed, effervescent person anyway. So, you just never know exactly what you’re gonna get.”

Back in 2022, Meghann spoke to InStyle and revealed that the cast had been going on dinners, beach trips, and karaoke sessions to get to know each other. She also said she’d been lucky that Theo is her partner:

“We had a couple of dinners when I first got there to just get to know each other as people. Because the writing is so good, but also because Theo is a really good partner, and he’s really playful and open. I feel really lucky for that because it’s not always the case, and it makes things so much more fun.”

Meghann and Theo have been spotted at many instances together, including award ceremonies or just for ‘a little dolce vita.‘

In November 2022, ‘The White Lotus’ was renewed for a third season. As reported by Variety, the upcoming season will be filmed in Thailand.
