Rapper 50 Cent recently shared a short clip from one of Chris Tucker’s stand-up sessions. The rapper shared the video this Sunday, in which Tucker talked about Michael Jackson’s admiration for rap music. Tucker said the following in the video:

“He liked rap. He liked that 50 Cent song ‘In Da Club.’ He liked the beat. So he’d be jamming to the beat. We’d be riding in the car, and Michael would just be jamming to the beat. It’s cool until you start saying the words. That’s when it sounds crazy [imitating Michael rapping 50].”

Tucker recalled warning Jackson for singing the rapper’s song and continued:

“[I’d be like] ‘Michael, Michael, no! Don’t sing the words. Please.’ [He’d say] ‘I love that song, Chris! I love that beat. I love it, Chris. That is a cold-blooded beat. Of course, I wouldn’t go in the club with a bottle full of ‘bub, Chris. I wouldn’t do that! But I love that song!’ [I’d say] ‘It doesn’t sound right, Mike,’ [and he’d say] ‘I know, but I love it!'”

In the caption of the post, 50 Cent reacted with the following:

“Yo, Chris is crazy. Who didn’t like that one? Lol.”

This is not the first time the names of the two musicians were mentioned together. The two had collaborated on the song ‘Monster,’ which was released a year after the passing away of Jackson. See the post here and listen to the song below.

Speaking to the Guardian in a recent interview, Joseph Fiennes revealed he, too, feels his decision to play Michael Jackson in the UK TV Show ‘Urban Myths’ was a mistake.

Recalling the negative reaction he received, Fiennes said:

“I think people are absolutely right to be upset. And it was a wrong decision. Absolutely.”

As the actor said, he himself asked the broadcaster to pull that episode after realizing that was ‘a bad call’:

“But you know, it came at a time where there was a movement and a shift, and that was good, and it was, you know, a bad call. A bad mistake. And, just to say, I asked the broadcaster to pull it. And there were some pretty hefty discussions, but ultimately people made the right choice.”

That 2017 episode of ‘Urban Myths’ centered around the myth that Michael Jackson, Marlon Brando, and Elizabeth Taylor drove out of New York after the 9/11 attacks.

In the trailer for the episode, Fiennes was seen wearing a prosthetic nose and having lightened his skin. Following the trailer’s release, critics dubbed the episode as ‘weird’ and noted that it was uncomfortable seeing Fiennes playing a black singer.

Jackson’s daughter Paris also took to her Twitter to express how uncomfortable she felt after watching it:

“I’m so incredibly offended by it, as I’m sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit.”

In 2016, Fiennes told Entertainment Tonight that he was also surprised to be cast for the role:

“I’m a white, middle-class guy from London. I’m as shocked as you may be.”

Considering the criticism he might get for the role, he added:

“[Jackson] definitely had an issue – a pigmentation issue – and that’s something I do believe. He was probably closer to my color than his original color. It’s a light comedy look. It’s not in any way malicious. It’s actually endearing.”

In a recent episode of his Hotboxin’ podcast, Mike Tyson shared a moment of the Michael Jackson and Prince feud, explaining how Jackson tried to take revenge against Prince. While chatting with the rapper Tony Yayo, Tyson revealed a rather different side of Jackson and recalled what urged him to seek revenge:

“He was different; he was a different person. Michael Jackson really believed that Prince tried to run him over in a car.“

He then showed Yayo a video from the 1983 James Brown concert, where Michael Jackson took the stage to perform with his musical hero:

“I’m going to show you how dirty Mike is. I want you all to see how Mike is grimy. James Brown was his hero.”

In the video, Jackson is seen whispering into Brown’s ear. He then makes his iconic dance moves and moonwalks on the stage. As Tyson said, what Jackson whispered was related to his revenge plan:

“Look what Michael said. ‘Call Prince up.‘ I will tell you why he told him to call Prince up. He knows Prince is drunk.”

He then continued, explaining why Jackson wanted Prince on stage:

“He was drunk. That’s why Michael Jackson told him to call him up. Michael killed him.”

Some rediscovered recordings reveal that Jackson felt so embarrassed about Prince after the incident during the James Brown concert:

“He made a fool of himself. He was a joke. People were running and screaming. I was so embarrassed. It was all on video.”

In various interviews, the King of Pop spoke about how he didn’t like Prince comparisons. For instance, as reported by Smooth Radio, MJ called the musician an ‘opponent’ and hoped he would change. He said:

“I don’t like to be compared to Prince at all. I have proven myself since I was real little. He feels like he’s my opponent. I hope he changes because, boy, he’s gonna get hurt.“
