Virgin Galactic’s ongoing space travel project, SpaceShipTwo, started its trips with tourists earlier in 2023. In the past decade, many names in the entertainment industry signed up for these trips that cost $250,000. So, we listed seven of them for you.

1. Justin Bieber

In 2013, reports suggested that Justin Bieber and his manager, Scooter Braun, had bought tickets for a trip aboard SpaceShipTwo. The company’s founder, Sir Richard Branson, confirmed their bookings on X by congratulating them while the singer mentioned the possibility of shooting a music video in space.

2. Mila Kunis

Kunis’ then-boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher, became the 500th customer of Virgin Galactic by booking a trip with the company in 2012. At the time, WENN.com reported that the actor was also planning to buy a ticket for his Kunis. Although it is not confirmed whether the actress will accompany Kutcher during the trip, she likely will, as the couple married in 2015.

3. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt signed up for the space trip in 2012. Despite their breakup in 2016 and the finalization of their divorce in 2019, both names remain on Virgin Galactic’s list of travelers for the upcoming journeys.

4. Tom Hanks

Having played roles in space-themed movies such as ‘Apollo 13,’ Tom Hanks expressed an interest in space travel during a 2009 interview with AMC by saying ‘he’d do it in a minute.’ He later secured a spot on Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo.

5. Kate Winslet

Winslet’s husband, Ned Rocknroll, is Virgin Galactic’s head of marketing and astronaut experience. As he is also Branson’s nephew, some news suggested that, due to this connection, the actress and her entire family received tickets for the journey.

6. Rihanna

In 2013, a source revealed to the media that Rihanna booked a spot for Virgin Galactic’s flight, as she has been ‘obsessed with space’ since childhood. Dailystar.co.uk reported that the singer was planning to take her brother Rorrey and a bodyguard on the trip as well.

7. James Cameron

In 2012, James Cameron invested in Planetary Resources, aiming to use robot ships to mine asteroids for metals like platinum and gold. He also worked with NASA on Mars-related projects and booked a flight for a trip with Branson’s company a few years ago.
