Bon Jovi founder and former lead guitarist Richie Sambora gave a quick interview about his attendance in ‘The Masked Singer UK,’ the British reality singing competition. Sambora shared his experience in the competition and described how different it was to perform in a costume and a mask:

“Oh, man. It was the craziest thing I ever did in entertainment in my life but I had a ball, you know. Interestingly enough, when you have a mask, you don’t get judged. It’s kind of like an honest meter. So if you don’t do good, you know it’s not going to happen. I almost won, you don’t know who you’re up against, you don’t have any idea, neither the judges.”

Richie climbed up until the seventh episode of season four as ‘Jacket Potato’ before he got eliminated by ‘Jellyfish.’ He mentioned his almost victory as:

“I got to the almost last round and the chick, I had no idea who she was but she was on ‘Glee’ or something. And she beat me with the first number-one song I ever wrote. So I had to laugh at that one.”

The ‘chick’ he refers to is Amber Riley, who portrayed Mercedes Jones in ‘Glee.’ Ironically, she performed ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’ and caused the guitarist’s elimination. When Richie unmasked himself, the judges which consist of Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Rita Ora were shocked. There was a heavy speculation on Jacket Potato’s identity and predictions varied from Ray Winstone, Shane Richie and Mickey Rourke to David Dickinson and Jack Whitehall.

Music is a recurring theme in Ava Sambora’s summer tips. Besides live music, she also suggested creating a personalized holiday soundtrack:

“I really like rap and alternative, like The Weeknd, and I can do a little bit of country. I like girl artists, like Miley Cyrus, and I’m also really into Zedd.”

With a diverse taste that spans from rap and alternative to country, Sambora says a great soundtrack is important to set the holiday mood.

As someone who values making the most of her time, Sambora advised against oversleeping during the holiday season. She believes in seizing the day and making the most of the long, sun-filled hours:

“It’s fun to sleep in on weekends during the school year, but in the summer, I like to start the day early. Get up and get going.”

Despite documenting her summer break on YouTube, Sambora understood the importance of disconnecting from digital devices. She suggested balancing the desire to capture memories with the need to fully appreciate the moment:

“There’s a fine line. You want to capture the moment and remember it, but at the same time, there are some things that are surreal — the moment is so beautiful — that you just want to experience it.”

Celebrate Sunshine With Outdoor Activities

Finally, no summer holiday guide would be complete without some sun-soaked fun. Sambora is an advocate for beach days, be it for boating or cycling:

“I really enjoy going to the beach. I’d meet up with my friends and drive down and spend the thing doing beachy activities, like boating or riding bikes around.”
