Noodles recently revealed on X how The Offspring had written a track to drag ‘popular trends’ and discussed an out-of-body experience.

The rocker first named which the Offspring song they used to ‘ironically’ slam down trends, stating:

“We had a song called ‘Cool To Hate’ about how good it felt to hate current trends as if one could rise above them by hating them. We saw it as relatable yet ironic. Beating up boy bands in effigy was the schtick intro to it. True story.”

He then recalled what it was like to perform the song in Woodstock 99 while also revealing why he had an ‘out-of-body’ experience:

“It [the show] was way too big to take in. It was like an out-of-body experience. I had quit smoking 2 years before, and I was also sober for a few months. That night I started smoking [and] drinking again backstage after the show.”

The guitarist had also slammed Alice Cooper for his anti-trans remarks while stating there was a ‘trend’ for older rockers to make transphobic comments and turn into, as he said, ‘bigots.’
