Back in 2004, Tara Reid experienced a wardrobe malfunction at P. Diddy’s 35th birthday celebration. As she posed on the red carpet, the strap of her black dress slipped, revealing her left breast to photographers for 10-30 seconds.
The incident gained media attention, with Reid facing public backlash, and she talked about the matter a year later in an interview. The actress told For Him Magazine:
“People act like it was the worst crime in the world. It was a mistake, you know! But you would think my boob had popped out and shot Gandhi! My hooters are under control. I’m taped up now, totally. I’m using double tape. Double double tape. My boobs are going nowhere again.”
While Reid asked the paparazzi not to publish the photographs, they spread around shortly after the event. Then, some rumors arose, with people suggesting that she either exposed her breast on purpose or was too drunk to notice.
Referring to these rumors while in a chat with Access Hollywood, the actress explained:
“I swear to you, I had no idea that had happened. I had a fur coat on, so when I took the coat off, the coat was heavy, and the strap came out with the coat. They were like, ‘Tara, let me see the dress, let me see the dress.’… I didn’t see the strap fall down, so I’m smiling like an idiot. … Then, when someone came up to me, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m so embarrassed!'”
Following the incident, talks about the shape of her breast also arose, as the nipple of her left one looked ‘misshapen.’ Reid later blamed its appearance on a plastic surgery that went wrong.
