In an interview with GQ Korea a few months ago, Twice’s Chaeyoung shared her favorite casual looks. Her choices varied from a plain white dress to a shirt from the Japanese fashion line Comme des Garçons.
The singer revealed the inspiration behind these looks during her other interviews. In 2021, she explained to Billboard:
“I love the glamorous styles of Zoë Kravitz and Lady Gaga. The colorfulness and the courage to try something new strikes me every time and inspires me. I would love to become a fashion icon like them one day. However, from time to time, I also like funky and bohemian styles that are minimal and basic. MINA Kendall Jenner is my current fashion inspiration. I love her chic but lovely fashion. I try to replicate it but also add my own taste and style into it.”
While she worked on her style, Chaeyoung’s clothing choices recently sparked controversy on social media. In March, a photo posted on her Instagram from Twice’s world tour showed her wearing a shirt with a Nazi symbol.
This received backlash from her fans, after which she issued an apology on the platform by writing:
“Hello, this is Chaeyoung from Twice. I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post; I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the titled swastika in the t-shirt I wore. I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it, causing concern. I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again. I sincerely apologize again.”
