In a recent episode of ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,’ Uma Thurman’s daughter Maya Hawke and ‘Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston sat down for a chat. When fans asked Maya what would startle Quentin Tarantino to shoot a ‘Kill Bill’ volume three starring her and her mom, the actress explained Tarantino’s possible motives.
Upon hearing the fan question, Cohen reminded Maya that Tarantino said it would be exciting to cast her and Uma for a volume three. Revealing what it would take to get the director to make the movie, the actress responded:
“I think that he really loves talking about the idea of making a volume three. Actually, what I think it would take is everyone not talking about it for long enough that he gets annoyed that no one’s asking him for it anymore, and then he’ll be like, ‘Now I’m going to show them that they want it.'”
Cranston then chimed in, saying ‘reverse psychology’ can do the trick. He and Maya then started telling Tarantino ‘he can’t do it.’ She said:
“I don’t think he can do it. I don’t think he has it in.”
In a 2021 interview with Joe Rogan, Tarantino revealed his possible scenario for volume three if it happens:
“Just imagining the Bride and her daughter B.B. having 20 years of peace, and then that peace is shattered, and then the Bride and B.B. are on the run. The idea of casting Uma Thurman and casting her daughter, Maya Hawke, and the thing would be f*cking exciting.”
Tarantino worked with Maya before. In his ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,’ the actress played Linda Kasabian/’Flowerchild.
The director announced his tenth and last film would be named ‘The Movie Critic,’ which he plans to start shooting this fall. So, it’s unknown whether there will be a volume three of ‘Kill Bill.’
