Stephen Amell, widely known for his role in ‘Arrow,’ found himself at the center of controversy in June 2021 after being removed from a Delta flight. The incident caused a stir among his fans and the media, leading the actor to initially downplay the situation on social media. However, in an appearance on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast, Inside of You, Amell took the opportunity to address the incident in a more remorseful tone.

During the podcast interview, Stephen wasted no time in getting to the heart of the matter. He started by admitting his mistake, explaining:

“I wanted to have just a slight runway here to talk about this because what happened was — and it’s very, very simple — I had too many drinks, and I had too many drinks in a public place. And I got on a plane.”

Amell went on to reveal his emotional state on that day, saying:

“And the reason that I wanted to talk about it is — and we’ll get to it; eventually, this will all make sense — is I was pissed off about something else that had nothing to do with Cass, my wife, and I picked a fight. I picked a fight because I wanted to be loud and upset.”

The actor added:

“And it was a fight, as in like, it was not an argument. In order to have an argument, two people have to be talking. My wife said one thing the entire time, which was, ‘If you don’t lower your voice, they’re going to ask you to get off the plane.’ That’s the only thing that she said the entire time.”

He then expressed regret over his actions, stating:

“So, obviously, Cass was 100 percent right there. I was being loud. I was probably dropping a few F-bombs. I’ve got the noise-canceling — this is not an excuse — I’m not here to make excuses because this was 100 percent my fault, but — and I don’t even want to smile while I’m telling this story because I’m actually, frankly, deeply ashamed of it.”

Stephen recalled what happened afterward:

“But I was quiet for 10 minutes; a guy came back. Clearly, I had made somebody uncomfortable, and someone had said something, and they just make the decision, ‘You’ve got to get off the plane.'”

Since the incident, Stephen Amell has continued his acting career, taking on the role of Jack Spade in the brotherly wrestling drama ‘Heels’ on Starz.
