The ‘Barbie’ premiere took place at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on the 9th of July, and, Wolfgang Van Halen was also there. He tweeted, revealing not only his attendance but also his associations with the movie:
“So here’s some news! I attended the ‘Barbie’ premiere last night with my lady because I’m on the score/soundtrack!“
Wolfgang continued, explaining that Mark Ronson reached out to him, and he accepted to collaborate:
“My buddy Mark Ronson hit me up earlier this year needing my ‘mammoth guitar sound’ and I happily obliged. Honored for the opportunity to contribute some guitar playing throughout this hilarious/surreal/heartfelt movie. Go check it out on July 21st!”
In the next tweet, Van Halen delved into the details of his involvement in the soundtrack along with Slash’s, in the song ‘I’m Just Ken’:
“(If anyone is curious about specifics, I have a lot of textural stuff throughout the film with two major spots where I do some soloing. One in particular is pretty cool because it’s the big song that Ryan Gosling sings and Slash plays on it as well!)”
Wolf then revealed something that hadn’t been included in the teasers:
“(There’s a specific moment in this song that’s only in the movie where l’ve got this fun solo with some tapping and stuff lol. Such a cool opportunity. Honored to be a part of it)”
‘Barbie’ movie will be released on July 21. The movie’s soundtrack also features musicians like Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Tame Impala, and Charli XCX.
