Skid Row’s upcoming 2023 tour is set to proceed but with one missing member. On their official Instagram, the band has announced that bassist Rachel Bolan will not be in a few shows of the European leg of the tour.
Citing an unknown family issue as the reason, they wrote:
“To the Skid Row faithful! Rachel Bolan will not be performing on some of the shows on the European tour due to an urgent family matter. He hopes to join the tour as soon as possible.”
Skid Row has been experiencing setbacks since the beginning of the trek. The group had to cancel Australian and Japanese shows due to Erik Grönwall’s health problems in May.
Their post announcing a possible rescheduling a few weeks ago read:
“To the Skid Row faithful in Japan! We regret to inform you that Skid Row’s highly anticipated first tour in over a decade must be rescheduled due to Erik’s continued flu-like symptoms. His health and well-being are our utmost priority. We apologize for any disappointment and appreciate your understanding.
Please know that we are already working swiftly to reschedule these dates as soon as possible. Our management and promoters are actively exploring options, and we will keep you updated on any developments regarding the rescheduled dates.”
Noticing the misfortunes of Skid Row, a fan wrote the following under the recent post:
“Man, you guys have been through the wringer on this tour! Sending love and wishes to Rachel and his family. Health and family come first!”
Another comment went as follows:
“This tour has been anything but good for all of you guys… Hope all is ok!”
It is not known when Bolan will be back on stage with the rest of the members, and the new dates for the canceled shows are yet to be announced. However, Skid Row will be performing in Germany on June 14 and keep traveling until the end of the year.
