Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery recently addressed rumors surrounding the band’s next album, clarifying how his personal faith journey might shape the new music. In a statement shared on Instagram, Lowery responded to fans who had asked whether the record would take a turn toward Christian metal.

“What’s up, everybody?! Real quick, I’m finishing up the writing for the new Sevendust [album], stuff I’m doing at home,” Lowery said. “I just wanna address something really quick. I’m getting a lot of questions about whether the new Sevendust is gonna be a Christian metal record.”

He then opened up about his spiritual path over the past year.

“And I’m just gonna tell you from my personal experience, my personal journey. I am a Christian, I’ve been saved for a year and it’s been the journey of my life. I love it. I’m embracing it fully,” he explained. “Now, is this gonna show up in the songs that I contribute to the band? I’ve always — we’ve always touched on those experiences. We’ve always touched on life.”

Lowery noted that his recent experiences naturally inform his songwriting.

“This last year’s been a lot that — I’ve been through a lot and I have a lot to write about and I have a lot to say and I have a lot to do in terms of honoring the person and the God that has put me back on my feet today,” he said. “So, yeah, there is gonna be, for me, songs that I would like to just lyrically touch toward my faith. And that’s just something that, it’s just natural, it’s always happened. We’ve always written about what we go through and what we’ve seen.”

He further emphasized his personal convictions while pointing out that he cannot speak on behalf of the entire band.

“And I’ve been affected, and it’s been a powerful message, and I will stand bold with my Christianity. I can’t speak for the rest of the guys. I know they have great hearts. I know they know God. And we don’t know what this record’s gonna turn out like,” Lowery concluded. “So I just want y’all to know that we’re gonna do our best to make the best record possible. And I’m gonna honor God in the best way that I possibly can. And I hope y’all have a blessed day.”

Lowery’s public affirmation comes at a pivotal moment for Sevendust, a band that has been a fixture in the metal scene since their formation in Atlanta in 1994. Across three decades, they’ve released fourteen studio albums, earned three consecutive RIAA gold certifications, and sustained a reputation for evolving while staying true to their sound.

The guitarist’s announcement also aligns with the group’s active touring cycle. According to Blabbermouth, Sevendust will embark on a U.S. acoustic tour from November 14 to December 12, 2025, marking the 21st anniversary of Southside Double-Wide. The run will feature stripped-down versions of fan favorites in cities including Columbia, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and San Antonio.

Loaded Radio reported that country-rock artist Cory Marks will serve as the opening act on this tour. The acoustic setting may create a unique space for Lowery to weave his faith into live performances more intimately. Meanwhile, the band continues to produce new material—most recently releasing Truth Killer in July 2023. Looking ahead, Sevendust is set to co-headline a European tour with Alter Bridge in early 2026, their first joint venture of this kind, underscoring their enduring global influence.

Lajon Witherspoon recently joined an interview with Metal Hammer to answer some fan questions, during which he revealed that Beyoncé had no familiarity with Sevendust.

When asked about his favorite moments from the nu-metal era by a fan on Facebook, the singer replied by saying:

“We went out with Limp Bizkit on the Ladies Night In Cambodia tour [in 1998]. They let the first 300 women in for free every night. Also, [American TV host] Matt Pinfield had this show years ago called ‘Farmclub.com.’ You’d perform on TV on this roundabout stage, and the first half of the show, one band would play, and the second half had another band. The day that we were there, it was Sevendust and Destiny’s Child! I got to meet Beyoncé!”

Witherspoon went on to describe what she was like, explaining:

“Incredible! Beautiful! The other girls were great too. They had no idea who we were. Maybe they said they did, but they were superstars already. Ha ha!”

In other news, the vocalist has been working on his upcoming solo album right now. A follow-up question from another fan wanted to learn how it sounds like, to which Lajon responded:

“Awesome! It’s more radio-friendly, with a lot of soul and R&B. There’s a bit of country in there too. I have a lot of songs and some label interest. Sevendust are really busy right now, but after we slow down, you’ll start hearing more about my solo stuff.”

As the musician stated, Sevendust is now busy with their new album, titled ‘Truth Killer,’ which is scheduled to hit the shelves on July 28. The band will support their forthcoming release with their tour with Alter Bridge in August and the following fall tour with Static-X.
