“In my own rock n roll mom opinion… Rock and roll has always been about rebellion, truth, and breaking down walls. Every generation has its voice, musicians who dare to belt out the things others are afraid to say,” Tyler wrote. “We’re in an odd place in life right now where our musical hero’s are dying, retiring or just not being available the way they used to be anymore. We’re used to things being a certain way. We’re used to what’s familiar. But we can’t be so stubborn to the future of rock and roll because we want the past to be the present.”

She continued by reflecting on the core spirit of rock music.

“People try to tear down what they don’t understand, but let’s be clear: music is not meant to fit neatly inside someone else’s idea of ‘acceptable.’ Rock was born to rattle cages, stir emotions, and challenge the status quo,” she said. “My dad and Aerosmith embodied that spirit for decades. Just a day before its release on August 24, Yungblud shared the story of his new single ‘Hated’ on Instagram. Revealing the trauma that inspired the track, he wrote:

“When I was seven years old, I was molested by a doctor. I never told anyone until I told my producer when this song started to come out. This is the most personal thing I’ve ever released. That’s not to say it’s soft or gentle. Far from it. It’s a rallying cry and an exposition of the soul.”

The singer also gave details about the song’s meaning:

“The song is ultimately about freeing yourself from bad experiences and trauma. Finding inner strength. Acknowledging your past, accepting the pain, and having the courage not to let it define your future.”

Delving into his thoughts about the path to success, he added:

“You’ve got to kill somebody to be somebody. To be who you want to be, you’ve got to hit the rock bottom and live through all of the shit nobody believes. You’ve got to hurt some people, but first, some people will thirst on watching you bleed. And that’s when you know that you’ve made it. When you’re hated.”

Before ‘Hated,’ Yungblud released the first single of his ‘new era’ in July. A music video for the song called ‘Lowlife‘ came out in early August.

The video showed him walking on the Camden Town streets with his younger self. Talking about the clip, the singer said:

“I wanted to make something that looked like emo ‘Shameless’ or ‘St Trinians’ on acid. As I was writing the song, I was visualizing the video in my head; it literally helped me get the words down on paper.”

“I knew it had to be shot in Camden Town, and I wanted to be walking side by side with my younger self, guiding him through a f**ked up world based on real memories and people I have encountered in my life. Yungblud has announced plans for an upcoming world tour to support his recent works, beginning its first leg in Gangnam, South Korea, on October 29.

Ahead of the US leg of his World Tour, Yungblud made an announcement that might make many of his fans happier than ever. In his recent tweet, the musician stated that all of his tour tickets would be sold for lower prices because it breaks his heart to see fans can’t afford to see him perform:

“It breaks my heart that a lot of you out there right now can’t afford tickets to live shows. I see it every day, and I want to do something about it. As of tomorrow, for the American tour that starts next week, tickets are going to be available for $20, including fees.”

In the following tweet, Yungblud made another announcement for the fans who had already bought tickets for the full price:

“I know a lot of you out there paid full price for tix; I want to let you know that for every single penny that I’m learning from this tour, I’m putting back into you all so that we can make tix available for this price. This is what it is about, coming together and helping people out if they need it.”

Yungblud kicked off his World Tour in February with a show at the Cardiff International Arena, performing songs from his entire discography. He is now getting ready for the US Leg of his tour, with his next show being in St. Petersburg, Florida, on June 27.

Yungblud recently sat down with The Allison Hagendorf Show to discuss how he found his creative freedom. He argued that both music and culture need an injection, and people shouldn’t be afraid of the cancel culture at all.

In his words, Yungblud said:

“I just feel like music needs an injection; I think even culture does; everyone’s f*cking terrified to say anything at all. Everyone is terrified to actually express themselves. So, it’s like you dilute what you want to say because you’re terrified of getting a thousand angry people to jump on top of you.”

He then continued, explaining his approach:

“I think it needs to have a bit of bite back. As long as you mean it liberally, just f*cking say it in a way that’s going to excite me again. It’s all got a little bit like f*cking hippie commune, and I’m down for that. The message has got to be that, but I just want it to be with a bit more bite and a bit more wet.”

In a 2022 interview with Gay Express, Yungblud said that it’s hard, but his main objective is the courage to be who he is:

“The main objective is courage. It’s the hardest thing in the world to be who you are. Because if you hide it, even just a little bit, to fit in, it instantly feels easier. To be who you are, you have to put your heart on a silver plate for anyone to do what they want with it. They can stab it, kiss and cuddle it, or even take a shit on it.”

Yungblud has been accused of queerbaiting and trying to appeal to the LGBTQ+ community for career success. He also received backlash for covering Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions,’ but got Brian May’s support.

The musician released his new song ‘Lowlife’ on June 7.
