In a recent chat with fans on Twitter, Liam Gallagher revealed that there will be ‘lots’ of new music next year. The singer answered quite a few fan questions on the platform but when a fan asked about new material, Liam didn’t hold back and wrote:

“Yeah lots and lots.”

While fans wait for new music, Gallagher had shared ‘humongous’ news on Twitter about his recently passed indoor gig at London’s KOKO. Even though some were disappointed that it wasn’t an Oasis reunion, some were happy to see the singer live again.

One fan shared their disappointment on Twitter and wrote:

“Hardly a huge announcement. Hope your next one [is] a gig in Manchester.”

After mixed responses from fans Liam decided to respond and said:

“I’m really disappointed at all the people that were disappointed after my disappointing announcement.”

Besides his most recent indoor gig that some fans found as disappointing news or his upcoming projects in the new year, another fan wanted know whether Liam was a Depeche Mode fan. The singer replied:

“Yeah”

Finally when someone asked whether he would see Blur play live, Gallagher gave this response:

“I’ve seen them years ago Manchester academy just before I became the best thing since pickled onion monster munch.”

Blur’s Dave Rowntree recently revisited the dispute between his band and Oasis during the ’90s in an interview with NME. The conversation started while discussing Mogwai’s ‘Blur: Are Shite’ T-shirts and cued the drummer to reveal the origin of their rivalry. He said:

“In those days, your celebrity was measured by how many column inches you got in the music press, so everybody was constantly slagging everybody else off. We were doing it; they were doing it. We took it in the spirit in which it was intended, as part of the big shouting match. It was all about getting noticed. That’s how the Blur vs Oasis spat started.”

Upon his words, the interviewer brought up Creation Records impresario Alan McGee’s past claims about Oasis wanting to kill Blur. In response, Rowntree remarked:

“Did they really want to kill us? I don’t know! They were pretty angry in those days. I think they wanted to kill each other more than anybody else.”

With more details on the matter, he went on:

“To this day, the Oasis question features in every interview I do, but journalists ask it as the last question in case you storm out! As if it still rankles so deeply after all those years [Laughs]. The Blur/Oasis spat only lasted a few months, but it’s one of those things that defined us both.”

Mentioning the feud’s effect and final state, the drummer also added:

“It propelled both of us to the bottom rung of the top ladder and made us household names, but equally, it stapled both band bands together at the hip when musically, we didn’t have much in common. Anyway, we’re all friends now, and they’re nice people.”

In the ’90s music scene, the rivalry between the two Britpop bands was a publicized event. It peaked when they released their singles, ‘Roll With It’ and ‘Country House,’ on the same day and fought for the number one spot in the charts.

At the time, they traded insults back and forth, but things settled after Blur vocalist Damon Albarn’s 2014 interview with Newsnight. When asked which band was greater, the singer answered:

“Well, that’s not a very grown-up question for Newsnight, is it? I think Oasis were better. I think they were better at communicating who they were.”

These days, Blur is set to release a new album, ‘The Ballad of Darren,’ on July 21. On the other hand, Oasis remains disbanded with ongoing fights between the former members Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Liam Gallagher revealed what he believes Noel Gallagher’s upcoming performance will be like following a user’s Twitter post, saying that she was excited to watch both Noel and Liam live in ten days.

The user wrote:

“I realized that ten days apart, I was going to see Noel and Liam in London. It’s totally crazy.”

To which Liam responded:

“My gig will blow his to ras. As it’ll be f*cking mental, his will be very civilized. Boring old c*nt.”

Then, another user told the former Oasis frontman after his comment:

“Oh, Liam, let it go.”

However, the singer is determined to continue teasing his brother, as he said in his reply:

“Never.”

During the summer, Noel will take the stage with his band, High Flying Birds, in some festivals and outdoor shows in the UK. On July 28, he will perform at Crystal Palace Bowl in London. The former Smiths member Johnny Marr will also join him as the special guest.

Liam, on the other hand, recently announced that he would perform an indoor show at the KOKO venue in London on August 9, shortly after his brother’s gig in the same city, to celebrate the forthcoming release of his live album ‘Knebworth 22.’

Radwimps singer and guitarist Yojiro Noda recently joined NME with his bandmates for an interview. During the conversation, Yojiro admitted that Oasis had a huge influence on his music and explained how the band inspired him.

NME’s Nick Levine asked the band whether there were any UK acts that they were a fan of or felt inspired by. Upon hearing this, Yojiro chimed in, revealing two names that have the most influence on Radwimp’s music — Oasis and Radiohead. He said:

“For me, Oasis and Radiohead — two big artists that gave us influence a lot. Especially Oasis. When I was around 13-14, when I started playing guitar, their music, melody, and chord progression gave me so many influences. You know, how they touch people’s hearts and feelings with their melodies and the chord progression.”

Nick then asked Yojiro if he learned guitar by playing Oasis songs. The musician confirmed:

“Exactly. Definitely. I can sing most of Oasis’ songs, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger,’ ‘Live Forever,’ ‘Whatever,’ or ‘Don’t Go Away.’ I mean, all those Oasis songs from that era, I used to sing a lot.”

According to a 2006 interview with CDJapan, Yojiro decided to pursue a music career after listening to Oasis.

Radwimps’ latest album ‘Suzume‘ was released in November 2022 as the soundtrack to a Japanese animated film of the same name.

Noel Gallagher recently sat down with Radio X’s Johnny Vaughan for a chat and revealed that his favorite Oasis song is their debut single ‘Supersonic’ from their first studio album, ‘Definitely Maybe.’

When asked which song he would pick as the one he enjoys listening to the most, Gallagher directly replied:

“It’s always going to be ‘Supersonic,’ just for how it came about that night, and it still sounds amazing to me when I hear it.”

Recalling the making process of the hit Oasis track, the musician continued:

“I just remember the circumstances. We were going to record ‘Bring It on Down’ because Alan McGee wanted [it] to be our first single, and we couldn’t get it right. We had one night left in the studio, and somebody just turned to me and said, ‘Well, we’ll just go and write another song,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, just like that.'”

So, Noel came up with ‘Supersonic’ in a short time:

“And I did. I went into the back, and I just wrote it. By the end of the night, that was the mix that we came away with. When we came down to London to see McGee, he said, ‘So, did you get [it]?’ We were like, ‘No, we didn’t, but we did this instead in the cassette, and he freaked out.”

In the 2016 documentary, ‘Oasis: Supersonic,’ Gallagher shared more on how he created ‘Supersonic’ during dinner as they were in the studio sessions of ‘Definitely Maybe,’ saying:

“Someone had sent out for Chinese or fish and chips or something – or Chinese fish and chips. I went in the back room, and as bizarre as it sounds, wrote ‘Supersonic’ in about however long it takes six guys to eat a Chinese meal.”

However, Liam Gallagher disagrees with his brother as his favorite song from Oasis’ catalog is ‘Live Forever.’ During a fan Q&A on Reddit in 2019, he revealed why he picked that track with the following words:

“It’s my favorite because it reminds me of the most important person in the world, my mam.”
