Dexys will support their forthcoming sixth studio album, ‘The Feminine Divine,’ which is set for release on July 28, with a tour. However, as the band’s frontman Kevin Rowland recently shared with Darren Paltrowitz of Paltrocast, they will hit the stage only in headlining shows rather than package tours.
‘The Feminine Divine’ marks Dexys’s first album of new original material in 11 years, and the first single ‘I’m Going To Get Free’ arrived last month, while the title track met the audience last week. They also announced a huge UK tour and the following dates in various European cities. Still, there is nothing about the US dates so far.
When asked if they would visit the US as part of a package tour or headlining, Rowland simply replied:
“Headlining, man.”
Giving more details about the upcoming shows, the singer added:
Therefore, as Rowland clarified, Dexys doesn’t intend to be involved in any kind of package shows. They prefer doing headlining shows instead. Their UK tour is set to begin on September 5 in Barbican, York, with additional dates in Liverpool and Manchester. The last concert of the European leg will take place in Portugal on October 20.
