Jack Blades has reacted to Ted Nugent’s cryptic hints about a possible Damn Yankees reunion, following a conversation on Nugent’s Spirit Campfire show, as reported by America’s Voice.

When asked about the chances of the supergroup returning, Nugent kept his answer vague but intriguing:
“You know, everybody thinks that we’re gonna do a Damn Yankees reunion. So let’s not kibosh that. Maybe. Who knows, maybe.”

Blades, however, was quick to suggest a more immediate collaboration during their upcoming September 6th performance.
“We’ll jam some Night Ranger songs with you on the September 6th show,” he replied. “So, let’s play a couple [Damn Yankees songs].”

The pair will be sharing the stage for a military fundraiser concert, offering fans a rare opportunity to see them perform together — even if it’s not a full-scale reunion.

Formed in 1989 by producer John Kalodner, Damn Yankees united Blades, Nugent, Styx’s Tommy Shaw, and drummer Michael Cartellone into one of rock’s most successful supergroups. Their 1990 debut went multi-platinum, delivering hits like “High Enough” and dominating rock radio through the early ’90s.

Blades has previously revealed that “High Enough” came together quickly in the studio, though at first there were doubts about whether Nugent would embrace its ballad style.

While Nugent’s comments leave the future of a reunion uncertain, their September 6th show could give fans a taste of what might be if Damn Yankees ever hit the stage together again.
