John Cooper Says Skillet Aren’t Trying To Outdo Theory Of A Deadman

Skillet frontman recently chatted with Loudwire Nights about going on the ‘Rock Resurrection’ tour, with Theory Of A Deadman. The rocker shared that they compliment each other and it’s been smooth sailing.

Here’s what John had to say about life on the road with Theory Of A Deadman:

“There’s a measure of humility and nobody’s trying to outdo each other.”

Cooper added that initially there were doubts as to whether fans would agree with the band they chose to tour with, but he did share that fans have been open to Theory Of A Deadman’s set. He added:

“Both bands are winning fans. We toured with a band—and I won’t say who because I love the band, they’re awesome—but their fans hated us. You could see it in their face when we were playing. It was almost as if they had their thumbs down, like we’re getting the Gladiator thumbs down … no band wants to see their fans treat another band that way, but there’s nothing you can do.”

Since the ‘Rock Resurrection’ tour, that kicked off earlier this year has been going well, the bands announced that they’ve added a fall tour leg of the U.S. The fall edition of the tour starts on October 20 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The bands will be visiting 33 cities around the U.S. Some of the cities include El Paso, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colorado, and West Valley City, Utah. Saint Asonia will once again join the Skillet and Theory Of A Deadman on the road. You can get more information about tickets here.
