Ike Turner Jr, Tina Turner’s Son, Charged With Drug Possession

Ike Turner Jr., the 64-year-old son of Tina and Ike Turner, was arrested on May 7, just 18 days before his mother’s passing, for drug possession. As reported by People, he has not posted $70,000 bail.

According to police reports, in Alvin, Texas, police pulled over Ike Jr. at a traffic light at 12:09 am for an equipment violation. He was driving a white 2013 Ford Fusion. When the police investigated the car, they noticed Ike Jr. was trying to eliminate 1.7 grams of crack cocaine and .7 grams of methamphetamine in an unusual way:

“He tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him.”

People reports that Alvin Police Department’s incident report reveals Jessica Salinas-Esquivel, who was accompanying Ike Jr. in the passenger seat, is also being charged with possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamines.

Back in 2018, Ike Jr. told Daily Mail that he hadn’t spoken to Tina since the 2000s, and she turned her back on him:

“Tina raised me from the age of two. She’s the only mother I’ve ever known. But I haven’t talked to my mother since God knows when – probably around 2000. I don’t think any of my brothers have talked to her in a long time, either.”

According to People, Ike Jr. has been detained at the Brazoria County Jail for the past month for possessing a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.

Ike Jr. had been working with Tina as her sound engineer when she got divorced from her abusive husband, Ike. His father was also battling with substance addiction since the 1970s, which ultimately resulted in his death in 2008.

Last year, Ike Jr. and Sweet Randi Love released a single named ‘Yes To Life.‘
